About

Welcome to the SASsy Fridays blog!

This is a place where quick tricks and tips for SAS users will be posted on occasionally.  Posts will be made by myself and guest bloggers.  If you have any questions regarding this blog please email me at drmitch24@gmail.com.

I guess I should give you all a brief introduction to who I am and my experience with SAS 🙂  I have been using SAS since about 1985, when I learned it during my Undergrad.  At that time we were using SAS on a VAX machine.  When I started my PhD in 1990 I changed institutions and was now using SAS on a SUN system.  So yes, running SAS in batch mode was my modus operandi for a long time.  Then along comes SAS for Windows and a new way of using my favourite program.  After completing my PhD and PostDoc, the real world beckoned and I started supporting SAS on our campus, what a treat!  Working with researchers from different disciplines and learning about the diversity of research beyond my own area was fantastic!  Allowing me to expand my SAS knowledge and providing me with the opportunity to pass on my knowledge to our research community.

I was working at Cornell University for 2 years (2015 and 2016) and  have since returned to the University of Guelph.  Holding SASsy Friday sessions every 2 weeks at 12noon again and posting on a fairly regular basis 🙂

I hope you enjoy the materials presented here and that you find them helpful.  If there are topics you would like to see, please drop me a line.

Thank-you!
